Raging Speedhorn

Night Wolf - Spinefarm Records

Raging Speedhorn might not be what this site is used to listening or writing about, but here at The Punk Site we don’t like to do things by the book. So to all you punks who are partial to a bit of Metal, here we go with a band that even after what will now be seven albums, don’t like or really want change. This latest album is what can only be described as safe, but not on the ears or head, just in how it takes everything from the bands history and simply carries it all on like ‘who cares if it works’.

If you’re a fan of a band called Cancer Bats, then this is the band that more than likely inspired and gave birth to them. I’m not gonna spend the next ten minutes trying to explain every song and how all ten tracks fire on through like Haley’s Comet across the night sky, how the riffs in ‘Buzz Kill’ and ‘Every Night’s Alright For Fighting’ have everything 00’s metal to thank. How ‘Can’t Stop’ and the title track ‘Night Wolf’ are Black Flag in intensity, and AudioSlaveesque in epicness.

Instead I’ll drop you some links, you can go listen and buy if you want to expand your musical depth. I’d love to add more, but truth is, this is a Raging Speedhorn album and there isn’t anything new that could be said about something that’s as generic as it can get when it comes to grunge metal, not saying its not great, but try doing all seven albums in one sitting and you might get it.

Head over to Spinefarm Records to grab your copy.
