Swamp Delta

Sick Liver Blues - Deltatone

Swamp Delta have bought us Sick Liver Blues, their debut album of self proclaimed “bastard punk blues”. Swamp Delta rose from the ashes of two of Leicester’s (UK) finest, Crazyhead and Gaye Bykers On Acid, and the album features some of the hallmarks of both of those bands and this is no bad thing but the new whole is so much greater than the sum of it’s parts.

Sick Liver Blues is a heavy greasy mix of blues, punk, garage and whatever else could be thrown in there to create a unique gumbo that is irresistible. Whether it’s drawing on the sleaze and energy of Crazyhead or channelling the acid drenched insanity that was Gaye Bykers On Acid, Sick Liver Blues veers chaotically between styles and won’t be pinned down. From the driving opener of Running From The Island Of The Girls to the closing bastard blues of Touch The Sun this is a comeback that isn’t resting on it’s back catalogue and former glories and that is something to be treasured in the current age of reunion and classic album tours.

Sick Liver Blues is available for streaming and purchase on download & limited edition CD here
