Drive-Thru Invasion Tour Compilation - Drive-Thru Records

Drive-Thru Records, the ruler of the pop-punk industry, has recently made a tread across the United States with some of their top acts. In support of this great tour the label has decided to release a compilation album featuring 11 songs from bands on their roster. It features old timers like AllisterNew Found Glory and Home Grown along with some of their newer bands like Steel TrainHidden In Plain View and Senses Fail. All in all, this compilation reminds you of what DTR has done for the scene as a whole.

Throughout the 11 tracks you hear a total of 4 unreleased tracks, one of which is acoustic and the other a live song. Senses Fail open the compilation up with their unreleased track called Bite To Break Skin. It gives you a good feel as to what to expect from the band in their upcoming album; and it doesn’t look disappointing in anyway at all. Another unreleased track has The Starting Line playing their hit song,Best Of Me in front of a energetic New Jersey crowd. The vocals aren’t as strong as they are on the recording and are somewhat scratchy/harsh; but Kenny is backed up immensely by the crowd and even lets them take over completely during some moments. Something Corporate also supplies a unreleased track called Down; which is off their upcoming album called North. The song is like any other SoCo track: slow, piano driven, melodic emotional music. The final unreleased track is brought to you by the good folks in New Found Glory, with an acoustic version of their single: Head On Collision. Another treat in the compilation is Hidden In Plain View‘s track. It introduces the label’s loyal followers to it’s newest acquisition.

Overall, the compilation really works well to remind you of the effects DTR has had on the community in the past couple years and shows us just what talented bands they have on the label. And for a mere 6 bucks, why shouldn’t you pick it up?
