Ahead of this year’s Rebellion Festival we’re asking a selection of the band’s who are appearing about what we can expect, and for their advice on surviving the four day festival. In the sixth of The Punk Site‘s 2019 Rebellion Festival previews we speak to Kid Klumsy‘s frontman Weab. Kid Klumsy have been together a little while but are now heading further afield with their own headline shows around the UK alongside some festival slots, all day slots, support slots and regular jaunts into Europe. The bands latest release “Singing Our Souls” is released on August 1st via STP Records and will also be available available via digital platforms The bands fun presence takes songs about Pukka Pies, Dyslexic Monkeys and more to put a smile on your face, whether on stage or via your speakers. You can read about what to expect from Kid Klumsy at the Rebellion Festival below.

Is this your first experience of the Rebellion Festival or have you  played before?

Weab – Not our first time as a band no (although I have a little experience), that was last year but we’re just as excited to be back. Kid Klumsy played last year on the Introducing Stage, it was amazing playing to a packed room and of course lots of fun. We were asked to cover for another band on the big Club Casbah stage as a band had to pull out so very quickly changed our plans to stay, we had a great reception there too. We are really looking forward to playing again this year on the Pavillion stage which should be nice and loud for a Sunday singalongaklumsy.

What can we look forward to from your set?

Weab – Fast guitars, huge drum sounds and loads of fun.  We’re releasing our new EP SINGING OUR SOULS through STP Records at Rebellion so we’ll be playing a mixture of the new songs, some from Spit Your Dummy Out and maybe a curveball, lots of high energy singalongs, dancing and the odd crowd surfer or six.

What makes the Rebellion Festival special for you?

Weab – The atmosphere! It’s amazing meeting and making new friends from the moment you step into The Winter Gardens right up until you leave, and the great music on offer of course.

Will you have the chance to catch anyone else whilst you’re there and is there anyone else on the bill you’d recommend people go and see

Weab – There’s loads on the introducing stage that I have yet to see. The past few years Rebellion have made a real effort to bring new music to people which most events are afraid of so hats off to them. On other stages Spring Park is a must on the Thursday. Midnight Tattoo from Belgium who we did some shows in Europe with are another worth seeing but to be honest with so many bands gracing the stages, the list is endless and varied.

If you could pick one band to appear at the Rebellion Festival who would it be?

Weab – Too many to choose just one band so I’m cheating a little bit here, Kerbdog ,Dropkick Murphys, Dogeatdog ,Fun Lovin Criminals ,Misfits and Ginger& Cj Wildheart in the acoustic bar.

Do you have a favourite memory from a previous Rebellion Festival?

Weab – Last year filling the Introducing Stage was a special moment for me and the band ,such a great feeling knowing the people are there for you, almost had us in tears, almost.

Are you currently on tour if so where else are you playing this year?

Weab – Not so much a tour as a continuous party, we are out most weekends with the odd break for family time but we pretty much have shows every month and 2020 is already looking busier than 2019. We’re playing all over the Uk, from Southampton to Bathgate and back again and have another European Tour being booked by Uncle Stu, our management are the best and keep us busy and outta trouble.

What can we look forward to from you in the next twelve months?

Weab –  Two more EP’s full of new songs, debut vinyl release (Uncle Stu starting work on it after Rebellion so late 2019/early 2020 for that), lots more headline shows, guest slots on shows, festival appearances, all dayer appearances, a European tour ,and a few other special things I’m not allowed to mention yet…..oh and more fun.

Do you have any festival survival tips?

Weab – Ha ha, if there are any useful tips send them my way.

Is there anything else in Blackpool you’d recommend people experience whilst they’re in the town?

Weab – Definitely a trip up to the Waterloo pub, it’s a great venue with amazing owners. Check out some of the street performers and buskers very entertaining. There’s basically a whole lot to see and do, it’s Blackpool……but crazy golf is a must alongside chilling and people watching.

Finally when and where are you appearing?

Weab – Kid klumsy will be playing on Sunday night 7.30pm to 8.10pm on the Pavillion Stage so feel free to come and join the party to put a smile on your face before you start thinking of heading home, perfect x

Thanks for taking the time to speak to us, we’ll see you down the front.

Weab – No problem at all, thank you for giving us some time and space on ThePunkSite.com
