Alabama’s Ghosts Among The Pines have revealed Holding On, the track is the lead single and video from the band’s debut full length, Sorry For The Mess, that is due out on the 6th June. Holding On is now available via streaming platforms and as a name your price download via Bandcamp. Self-produced with a DIY ethos, the band recruited fans from their local scene and made an event out of filming. The video leans into the tropes of every house party that’s ever been. Binge drinking, people passed out, long lines for a single bathroom, and that couple that just can’t stop making out. However, despite the humor of the video, the subject matter is darker.
“I wrote Holding On about my binge drinking and the consequences from that. My early 20s were a time where I was self medicating my depression, before I truly knew that’s what was going on. Even if you’ve never struggled with those things, I believe the feeling like you’re losing the fight with the chaos of life is universal. That can be overwhelming and drive people to some dark places.” (vocalist Mike (Sully) Sullivan)
