Barbicide Share “Songs About Heartbreak And Nazis” On Debut Album

The infamous founders of Mephiskapheles, the world’s first Satanic ska band, have risen from the ashes with Barbicide‘s politically charged debut studio record, Songs About Heartbreak And Nazis, that is now available on all major streaming platforms. The album features 13 original songs employing many rich lifetime’s worth of history to push ska-punk to new thematic and musical heights. The band will also host a record release party on Friday 13th October at NYC’s Otto’s Shrunken Head, a joint as distinctive as the band itself.

Songs About Heartbreak and Nazis is not typical Third Wave Ska-Punk or some Second Wave rehash but a deep dive into all of the band’s musical influences: from The Skatalites and early ska and soul through their punk and post-punk idols, including Johnny Thunders, X, Butthole Surfers and Big Black, with a dash of musical theater bravado for dramatic effect. True to their roots, Barbicide doesn’t shy away from the monsters under America’s bed. The band attacks the horrors and perpetrators in modern culture head-on with songs about heartless greed, mental illness and the abhorrent rise of American neo-fascism.
