Milan’s Tornado Lobster Killer have released Lobsteria, a record that transforms uncertainty, frustration, and personal upheaval into something urgent, honest, and cathartic. The album marks a significant evolution for the band and serves as the first full-length work created by their current lineup. While rooted in punk rock, Lobsteria pushes further into melodic hardcore territory, pairing speed and intensity with sharper songwriting, greater musical depth, and the emotional tension that has always been central to the band’s identity. More than a collection of songs, Lobsteria functions as a reflection of the period in which it was written. Personal experiences and broader social realities collide throughout the record, creating a narrative where internal struggles and external pressures become impossible to separate. Lobsteria is now available via streaming platforms and as a name your price download via Bandcamp
The album opens by examining the world around us. Tracks like Pay To Play confront the challenges of sustaining a creative path within an increasingly exploitative system, while Hollywood critiques image-driven culture. Songs such as Death Porn, Obey, and Suicide Cake explore the alienation, anxiety, and disconnection that define much of contemporary life. As the album progresses, the focus gradually turns inward. Rhya emerges as one of the record’s most vulnerable moments, exploring human connection as an act of resistance in a world that often feels devoid of meaning. Closing track Scarecrow brings the journey full circle, transforming loss and collapse into self-awareness and revealing an identity forged through adversity. Designed as a circular listening experience, Lobsteria begins and ends within the same emotional landscape, offering no easy answers but presenting music as a way to confront uncertainty rather than escape it.
True to Tornado Lobster Killer‘s DIY ethos, the album was built independently and with intention, reflecting the same care and authenticity that define the band’s live performances. The release is also available on 12″ vinyl and CD, featuring artwork by Nanà “Oktopus” Dalla Porta, further expanding the album’s distinctive visual world. With Lobsteria, Tornado Lobster Killer solidify their voice as a band capable of balancing social critique with personal reflection, vulnerability with aggression, and introspection with urgency. The result is a powerful and unflinching album that doesn’t offer escape routes, but something far more meaningful: a way to stay.
