Vancouver songwriter Alex Little has returned with Conversations in My Head, a new three-song EP that is now available via Light Organ Records. Poppy, punky, and wired with new-wave hooks, it finds Little doing what she does best: turning the ugly stuff rattling around inside her head into songs catchy enough to sing back at it. There’s Blondie in the cool melodic instinct, Buzzcocks in the collision of hooks and guitars, and some B-52’s weirdness around the edges, but Little’s perspective is unmistakably her own. Funny, anxious, self-aware, and never quite convinced by its own reassurance.

If 2025’s Spider in the Sink EP found Little confronting fear, self-doubt, and the feeling that your own brain might be working against you, Conversations in My Head tightens the screws. Across three songs, Little circles the uncomfortable gap between what we know and what we can actually make ourselves believe. Sometimes that means watching people look away from something ugly. Sometimes it means staring at your own reflection until every perceived flaw becomes evidence. Sometimes it means knowing you shouldn’t need somebody else to tell you you’re okay, then needing them to say it anyway.
