The New Catastrophes “Weather The Storm” On New Album
San Jose, CA's The New Catastrophes have released their new album, Weather The Storm, via streaming platforms, as a free…
After three decades of pushing the boundaries of melodic hardcore, Calgary’s technical punk veterans Belvedere return with their seventh full-length album, Seven Years of Bad Luck, that is due out on June 19 via Thousand Islands Records and Lockjaw Records. The 11-track release arrives on the heels of an intense stretch of global touring and signals a band still evolving—restless, sharp, and as urgent as ever. The album’s first single, Crimson, is now streaming, offering a powerful introduction to the record’s emotional and thematic core. Frontman Steven Rawles describes the track as a reflection of modern disillusionment and isolation:
“A desperate feeling of loneliness. You know that things aren’t right in the world, yet the voices of media, government and sycophants supporting them tells you the opposite. Terrible injustices pile up in front of your eyes, but these visualizations become a sea of echoes that are loud and disorientating. You’re not alone.” (Steven Rawles)
