After three decades of pushing the boundaries of melodic hardcore, Calgary’s technical punk veterans Belvedere are set to return with their seventh full-length album, Seven Years of Bad Luck, that is due out on June 19th via Thousand Islands Records. The album’s second single, Dormitory, is now streaming, the track offers another preview of the record’s emotional and thematic core. Seven Years of Bad Luck arrives on the heels of an intense stretch of global touring and signals that the band is still as restless, sharp, and as urgent as ever. Belvedere will return to Europe in June and July for select dates with Authority Zero, MakeWar, Strung Out, The Corps, and more.

“You accept that in a relationship, you take the bad with the good. But what happens when your communication breaks down and nothing helps the situation. Neither of you can love or accept love when your heart is in this “dormitory” or institutional state.” (frontman Steven Rawles)

Belvedere

Formed over 30 years ago, Belvedere have built a reputation for blending breakneck technicality with melody and introspection. Seven Years of Bad Luck continues that legacy while pushing into new territory, balancing contrasts at every turn: melodic yet dissonant, melancholy yet hopeful, cryptic yet direct, and intense yet dynamic. It’s a record that reflects both the band’s history and their refusal to stand still.
