Punk poet Cherry B is set to release her debut novel, Back To Square One. The book is part autobiography and part thriller, it’s a sinister story set against the backdrop of the infamous Essex venue The Square between 1983 and the venues closure in 2017. Back To Square One is a tale of fantasy, obsession and cold blooded murder that weaves through factual recollections from two opposing perspectives. Back To Square One is now available for pre-order here and will be available online, in stores and in person from the 31st July.

“I wrote the book in 10 months. It’s based on actual events, but then fabricated and twisted into a thriller. It’s also set against the backdrop of the infamous Square One music venue, which has shaped the lives of many. Coming up there will be the book launch at Rebellion on the literary stage at approximately 7pm on the 1st August. I will also be booking some more over the following months regionally. Rebellion is busy for me this year, as well as the book launch, Cherry & Peesh will be playing Sunday early afternoon on the Almost Acoustic stage. As well as a Wednesday warm up gig at The Galleon Bar at approx 4pm. You will see me lots on the literature stage over the weekend, I will be interviewing Steve Ignorant and also Mike Peters from The Alarm. I will be introducing Attila the Stockbroker and Steve Drewett with a poem too. Before that myself and Peesh have a gig in my Hometown Harlow on Saturday 20th July supporting Steve Drewett.” (Cherry B)
