Dundee’s David Delinquent, frontman and guitarist of The Delinquents, has released his hopeful new solo single ‘Better Yourself‘ as a name-your-price download via Bandcamp, all proceeds raised from the sale of ‘Better Yourself‘ will be donated to support two charities, CRER Scotland and Stop Hate UK.

Better Yourself‘ can be streamed and purchased via Bandcamp here

You can read a statement from David Delinquent about the song below

“I chose this artwork for a couple of reasons, first and foremost to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the events currently taking place in the US and here in the UK. As a straight white male I feel it would be inappropriate for me to use any symbols or art work relating to the issues I’m talking about in this song because they are not my symbols to use, I’m trying to spread a message of self betterment for people like myself not promote my art, friends art or hijack any imagery that, to be frank does not belong to me. The third reason is that I wanted to avoid using any art that would distract from the message and the material in the song. I stand in solidarity with all people of colour in the LGBTQ+ community and I hope in some small way I may have helped to highlight some important issues.  I will be putting the song on only Bandcamp for pay-what-you-want download with all proceeds going towards charities CRER Scotland and Stop Hate.UK. Hopefully the message I am trying to illustrate gets across.”
