David Delinquent Releases “Scared To Spend” EP
Dundee’s David Delinquent (The Delinquents / David Delinquent & The IOU’s / Football, Beer & Punk Rock Podcast) has self released a brand new EP, Scared…
Seattle Noise Punk tainted Hardcore trio Death Spa are a culmination of the hyper active vision of long time songwriter Mia-Rose Malone, along with fellow collaborators Levi Fuller and Jonathan Rodriguez. With winding guitar, gutsy screams, drums and bass that groove and fearlessly provide blast beats and weird Prog Rock bass licks when necessary, Death Spa is a rhythm driven train on which Mia-Rose is leaping from car to car, organizing the misfits of the world to jump on for the ride. Centralized around themes of escaping from cycles of abuse, pure dysphoria, and social isolation, Death Spa‘s debut full length, Ewwwphoria, is an intense journey of epic proportions.
From hiding from childhood abuse within the safety of Pink Castles to literally escaping an abusive adult relationship on the harrowing Escape From Kirkland, this release faces the reality of domestic debasement in a visceral way that daringly displays the pain endured, laid bare for all to witness. Addressing the terrors of general distrust of men on Seven Faces, solving ongoing health issues with hormonal therapy on Cracked Eggs, and the long and very painful process of becoming comfortable in one’s skin on Body Horror, this intense debut release bravely addresses the inflicted pain often hidden from society by a dehumanizing and genocidal patriarchal government that continually strips trans people of their basic human rights in order to Make It Hurt.
Presenting a flair for horror and the macabre, Mia-Rose writes about consuming drugs that are actually tiny aliens that take over your body and then the world on The Cyst, and the horrors of being stuck inside an endless time loop where you give birth to a pregnant version of yourself ad infinitum on Pregnant Time Slave.
