Wild Honey Records have released an expanded edition of Outside by Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman), the album is available via streaming platforms and is also making its debut on vinyl. Originally released in March 1994, quickly becoming one of Tek’s most appreciated collection of songs, it was also the first album with the enduring line-up of Deniz Tek, Jim Dickson (The Barracudas / The New Christs), Kent Steedman (The Celibate Rifles) and Nik Rieth (The Celibate Rifles). The album also features guest appearances by Angie Pepper (The Passengers / The Angie Pepper Band), Chris Masuak (Radio Birdman / The Hitmen / The Screaming Tribesmen / The New Christs) and Rob Younger (Radio Birdman / New Race / The New Christs)

Outside is a more aggressive album than it’s predecessors, featuring a higher energy approach, sustained by a band that could reliably pack a solid punch and match Deniz’s onstage stamina while delivering more grit and a harder edge. Highlights of these sessions include Day To Ride, that features rolling thunder piano chords courtesy of Pip Hoyle (Radio Birdman / The Visitors), the killer title title track, that was done in one smoking hot take that destroyed the bass amp, and the enduring live classic Blood From A Stone. Outside also includes unreleased tracks, the entire 444: The Number Of The Beat EP, that includes Tek’s version of The StoogesNot Right, and live recordings.

Deniz Tek will also be appearing with Radio Birdman over the Summer as the band celebrate their 50th anniversary with a series of Australian tour dates.
