Descendants To Reissue “Bonus Fat” Compilation

Descendents have announced that their Bonus Fat album will be reissued on November 13th via Org Music, the album collects the band’s earliest recordings, the eight-song release brings together their debut single, Ride the Wild, from 1979, the landmark Fat EP from 1981 and the compilation outtake Global Probing. Originally compiled in 1985, Bonus Fat captures the formative years of one of punk’s most revered and influential bands. The collection traces Descendents‘ rapid evolution from the breezy, surf-tinged power pop of their debut single to the caffeine-fueled bursts of aggressive hardcore heard on the Fat EP. Originally released by New Alliance Records, these recordings established the irreverent humor, speed and melodic instincts that would soon come into full focus on Milo Goes to College, the landmark 1982 debut album that cemented the band’s legacy.

Bonus Fat will be available on vinyl, CD and cassette, the vinyl editions include standard black, a ‘wienerschnitzel’ color pressing, and a limited ‘salt + pepper’ shatter pressing, additional exclusive variants can be ordered through select retail partners here.
