San Jose, CA's The New Catastrophes have released their new album, Weather The Storm, via streaming platforms, as a free…
Drakulas step further into the neon haze with Going Going Gone Gone that is now available via streaming platforms, the track is the second single lifted from their upcoming full length, Midnight City, that is due out on May 1st via Wild Honey Records (Europe) & Dirtnap Records (US). Going Going Gone Gone opens another doorway into the band’s ever-evolving world, familiar in tone, yet subtly shifting the coordinates. Built on a pulsing, off-kilter groove, Going Going Gone Gone leans into the band’s signature blend of wiry guitars, minimal synth textures and nocturnal tension, while hinting at a broader, more exploratory approach that defines Midnight City. Going Going Gone Gone sits right at the heart of that shift, not a departure, but a widening of the frame that sits right at the heart of that shift. This is not a departure, but a widening of the frame. Formed in Austin by Mike Wiebe (Riverboat Gamblers) and Zac Blair (Rise Against), Drakulas have built a cult following through their distinct mix of proto-punk urgency, garage grit and new wave atmosphere, all wrapped in a cinematic, self-contained universe.

“Going Going Gone Gone might be the first song that Mike and I wrote for Midnight City. We’d used the instrumental tracks for another creative endeavor we were trying (a podcast, we’re always up to something) and later we repurposed it for Drakulas. It ended up being the sort of ‘north star’ for the record because while it’s still ‘us’ it’s a creative step toward something new. It gave us the license to think outside of our own box and try new things. It seemed the obvious choice for the first song of the record and an intro to this new facet of what we call Drakulas.” (Zac Blair)
