Norfolk, VA’s Dunkirk Riots have followed up on their debut single, Spirit Of Norfolk with a cover of Take Back The Power that was recorded in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the release of The Interrupters debut album. Both tracks are available via streaming services and the band are working on releasing a 7 inch single in the next few months.

“So many folk & celtic tunes have something to do with rovers, like the Irish rover or the wild rover, etc. We just happen to live in a place where a tour boat full of kids caught fire, and a ship called the Victory Rover helped rescue them. It’s a bit tongue in cheek, but growing up here, seeing the Spirit of Norfolk ship when you got off the interstate on Waterside Drive really did make me feel at home. I think a lot people were pretty bummed that it burned, but also proud of the way the other ships stepped in to save the day. So it made sense for us to release it as our first single. Also just this past Friday August 2nd– we’ve released a cover version of The Interrupters, “Take Back the Power” in celebration of the 10 Year Anniversary of their debut album!!” (singer Ryan Livingston)
