Worcester, UK melodic-punks Fights & Fires have released their brand new EP, Future Plans And The Things That Ruin Them, on the 18th February through Lockjaw Records. The EP was written throughout 2020 during the various lockdown periods, countless hours were spent writing over Zoom calls between the members homes in Worcester, Wales and France. Eventually, the band were able to reunite in the summer of 2021 to spend a day rehearsing before heading straight in to the studio to record the EP. This was the first time the band had met in person since March 2020, when their tour of France was cut in half due to the first European lockdown.

Whilst the world has been seemingly crumbling around us, vocalist Philip Cox explains “the only real theme of the EP is hope. The subject matter is often about hard times or struggles but the message is always one of finding a better way or a light at the end of the tunnel”Fights & Fires are currently on tour in support of the new EP, with the remaining Scottish shows in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee set take place next week.
