The SoDa Poppers Drop New Single “Not Even In Your Wildest (Fuckin’) Dreams”
Johny Skullknuckles (The Kopek Millionaires / The Dead Beats / Goldblade) continues his musical adventures with The SoDa Poppers and their brand new…

Legendary band Fuzzbox has creatively re-imagined their catalog under the auspices of writer, producer and music shit-stirrer, Mike Bennett who has worked with artists such as Ian Brown, The Fall, The Specials just to name a few in the UK. Fuzzbox are featuring classic tracks such as “Pink Sunshine,” “Pop Muzik,” “Identity,” “Self, Love is the Slug” and “Futurama” together with new collaborations and interpretations using an innovative format. Vix, Magz, Jo and Tina could somehow transport you into a parallel universe that breaks new boundaries.
There’s something ethereal about Fuzzbox. People seem to label the band as post-punk, agitprop and then some of the more commercial pop meets rock ‘n roll is retrospective of their catalog and its new collaborations. Working and playing with Neville Staple (Specials) Jay Stapley (Roger Waters collaborator, Suede, Toyah) Melanie Williams (Sub Sub) and the musical trips of Mark Refoy (Spacemen 3, Spiritualized) you will find it’s like free drugs meets free spirits steeped in pure hot chick rock ‘n roll, with a bit of pop music with guitars thrown in.
In our new artificial intelligence age, we have algorithms instead of people creating music content and curating playlists like drones, it’s simply refreshing to experience something that is essentially human. Humans using intuition and inspiration created with and not by technology. The challenge for recording, producing and performing cool music has never been more relevant.
Back in the day, girl bands were so far removed from the male-dominated music industry and made Fuzzbox was their raw anger and beautiful, long-lasting energy. Think of Fuzzbox as the bastard cousins of the Slits.
Hell, even John Peel was a massive fan!
The tracks have been re-imagined into a soundscape that is immersive, engaging and just fucking exciting, which predates the current fascination with post psychedelia, EDM or whatever sub-genre is invented next week. The alien world like dreamscape of She, the otherworldly trip out of Beauty onto dub heaven, a reenergized cover of Spirt in the Sky that manages to reinvent a classic and Hollow girl is like a trip into interstellar space, just mesmerizing. There are two versions of Bohemian Rhapsody wtf? How can you re-imagine a classic? Well, Fuzzbox has done it, beautifully.
There’s a certain beautiful darkness to this album, which is strangely luminescent and all interspersed imaginatively with interview samples of the band.
It’s timeless, noisy, sexy, sublime with an interstellar and trippy mood. It’s unique. You really have to hear this!
