Los Angeles anarcho-punk collective Gottlieb return with their latest single, White Vans. The track is a volatile and deeply grounded track pulled from their forthcoming debut album, The Far Fallen Fruit, that can be pre-ordered on ruby vinyl via Quiet Panic Records. Known for channeling real world tension into unflinching sonic urgency, the band once again blurs the line between documentation and provocation. On White Vans, Gottlieb turns their focus to a moment of escalation and collective action in their own Mid-City neighborhood, a flashpoint that reflects the broader political climate shaping the band’s worldview.

“‘White Vans’ was written during a time in which Los Angeles was under siege during ICE occupation. Following a low-stakes porch theft, our neighborhood in Mid-City was experiencing a police response that subjected an innocent neighbor to the will of a helicopter, 8 police cars, and 18 officers with their guns drawn. But, fed up by the unpopularity of ICE & police action, the neighborhood united unlike ever before to ‘de-arrest’ their neighbor. This unity crossed lines of class, politics, race, and even rival affiliations to overwhelm the police. Our re-telling is meant to be a replicable, real-world example, and indeed, an endorsement, of communities’ ability to self-police.” (vocalist Andrew Pescara)

Fueled by frantic pacing, serrated guitars, and a sense of lived-in urgency, White Vans stands as one of the most immediate and confrontational entries in Gottlieb‘s catalog. It captures not just outrage, but the rare moment where that outrage transforms into collective power, a theme that runs throughout The Far Fallen Fruit. Entirely self-produced, from recording and mixing to artwork, the album reflects a band operating with complete autonomy and intent. Drawing influence from politically charged acts like Ceremony, Crass, and Refused, Gottlieb delivers a sound that is both chaotic and deliberate, rejecting empty aesthetics in favor of substance and confrontation.

At its core, The Far Fallen Fruit documents what the band describes as a generational rupture, a breaking point shaped by economic instability, systemic violence, and a growing disillusionment with inherited systems. Within that framework, White Vans emerges as a defining moment: not just a critique of authority, but a vision of what exists beyond it. The band will support the single and upcoming album with a run of West Coast dates and a full US tour this summer.
