Melbourne’s Hormones have today delivered their powerful and energetic debut album, Hot For Hormones, on which the group proclaims that they are here to support both trans rights and trans wrongs, and dare to answer the question, “what if the Ramones were super queer?” Hot For Hormones is 14 tracks of classic ‘77 punk energy, drawing influence from the Ramones’ 1970’s four-album run with buzzsaw guitars and hi-hat driven drives. Singer Joseph Ling snarls lyrics of queer empowerment written by the band’s creative mastermind, guitarist Betty Hormone.

Hot For Hormones was recorded and produced by Beth Seymour (Beth Seymour & The Lizzies) and mastered by Tom Young (Freddy Fudd Pucker). The album covers themes of being outed (Out Of The House, Out Of The Closet), navigating changing relationships (I Wanna Be Your Herfriend, If I Was Your Girl), coming out (No More Mr. Guy, You Don’t Have A Son), love-making (Poppers & Ritalin, Birthday Dress) and more relatable experiences that will engage all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as their well-wishers.
