Jeffrey Lee Pierce Documentary Announced
Jeffrey Lee Pierce, front man for influential LA punk band The Gun Club will be the subject of an upcoming documentary film titled Elvis From Hell. His band released 7 albums in their 12 year run and have a legion of celebrity fans, including Johnny Depp and Debbie Harry (Lee Pierce was a former president of the US Blondie fan club). He tragically died in 1996 at the age 37 from complications of heroin addiction, alcoholism and HIV.
The film is tentatively set for release in 2020 and will be a U.S. and German co-production, directed by Heiko Lange (B-Movie: Lust and Sound in West Berlin) and Jessica Andree (The Noise of Cairo).
