Boston based Pop Punks Last Second Dropout have released their new single, It’s OK, that is taken from their upcoming six track EP. The track offers a time warp towards the early 2000’s filled with rowdy guitar hooks and catchy background vocals that leans into the lively yet snarky mannerisms of the likes of Sum 41 and Blink-182. It’s OK revels in the narcissism of the music industry and highlights the pressures they face to constantly perform amidst the feelings of burnout. By shamelessly underlining the narcissistic tendencies of the music industry, the band create a relatable anthem for similar musicians on the rise. Amidst the high energies of the track, the band makes controversial statements about the industry that many refuse to vocalize.

“Artists are in a place where they are expected to pour from an empty cup and create something phenomenal. This song comes from that place lyrically, it’s like ‘yeah you want to see me do something amazing? You want me to do the impossible? You want me to make something from nothing? Fuck yeah – I’ll stab this rock until it bleeds.” (frontman Mark MacDonald)
