Andy Guttercat Takes On Spunk Volcano & The Eruption’s “Platform 3”
Coventry UKʼs Andy Guttercat (Malias / Firefly / Fridayz Angelz / The Guttercats) has released his new single, a high energy cover…
Lido Beach are set to release their new single The Kelli Song (Oh, Lucky Me), a track that frontman Scott Waldman co-wrote with Kim Shattuck, the late frontwoman for LA’s The Muffs, who tragically passed away from complications of ALS in 2019. The single hits digital platforms this Friday and will appear on Lido Beach‘s upcoming EP, Sweat Equity.
“I used to manage Kim as a songwriter and producer. We wrote this song together and shortly thereafter she revealed to me that she had some form of ALS and had stopped producing and writing. She and I had the chance to write “The Kelli Song (Oh, Lucky Me)” in 2018. I spoke with the publisher then, and Kim passed. There is never the right time to release a song from the dead or by the deceased. I decided to put this track as the meat (track 2) of the upcoming Lido Beach three-song EP ‘Sweat Equity’. I’ll never play it live, but we are donating half of its proceeds towards ALS research. I hope that Kim would be happy. I miss her.” (Scott Waldman)
You can pre-save The Kelli Song (Oh, Lucky Me) here, Lido Beach have also released a new holiday cover of Jingel Belle Roc that can be streamed via Spotify, Scott Waldman explains, “I’m an agnostic Jew and I wanted to release a Christmas song on July 3. Sorry?”
