Less Than Jake continue their Canadian adventure in style during football Sunday in Saskatoon!
JR Wasilewski gives us an update about their day in the prairies while Vinnie Fiorello supplied the pictures.
Saskatoon, SK – Today is a special day on tour. Because it’s football Sunday! In Canada it may not mean as much as it does in the States, but to me it’s one of my favorite things on tour. I don’t need too much of a reason to get up early and start drinking but every Sunday of football season is a reason to wake up.
Now don’t go getting all technical on me with the “it’s American football you know”. Let’s put this to rest, Canada: you are Americans, too. So it’s fucking football. I still love you, just come on now. We all know what I’m talking about.
On a day like today I don’t do very much that involves me leaving from the back lounge of our bus. I normally take over the TV remote and just flip back and forth between the different games that are on TV.
That being said this is going to be a very short entry. I can’t justifiably sit here and write a blog post about my sports watching addiction but let’s just say I have a better day when I can watch the games.
The last time we were in Saskatchewan, we played in Regina. That was a few years back but Louis’ here in Saskatoon is a sweet little bar/dining hall during the day and a kick ass show hall at night. As always, The Interrupters were flawless. They are one of the best young bands out there. Worth checking out! Big D kicked out their relentless set and it was top notch as always.
By the time we hit the stage the Canadian Thanksgiving festivities were in full swing. I know that by the end of a holiday function it’s always good to go out and have a few drinks with some friends. We were glad to have a bunch of our friends show up to our party. We had a dancing contest between a girl and a male security guard. Guess who won? You got it.
The security guard.
And he didn’t even get fired! Great night over all. Now time for a day off in our next stop of tour: Winnipeg!
Thanks,
JR
