mpf-17-1-0Philadelphia’s Paint It Black will be playing their first UK show in seven years at Manchester Punk Festival 2017. Paint It Black and its members embody what the festival is all about in terms of supporting grassroots music, keeping things ethical and addressing serious issues through music and community. Featuring members of other legendary bands such as Kid Dynamite, None More Black, Ceremony & Lifetime, Paint It Black are one of the most important and influential hardcore bands around. This will likely be one of two shows Paint It Black play in the UK. In addition to Paint It Black the Manchester Punk Festival also proud to welcome another legendary band in the form of New York’s The Toasters. This band have been a stalwart in the ska-punk scene for as long as most of us have been alive and it’s an honour to have them as part of the festival.

The rest of the first round of confirmations are below

In addition to the two bands from the USA the festival is already promising to have a truly international line up. All the way from Aalborg, Denmark are melodic hardcore band Mighty Midgets who will be making their way over to the UK for the first time. From Lincoln in England, and celebrating their tenth anniversary, The Living Daylights are making a very rare appearance and will be bringing their anthemic driving punk rock to The Manchester Punk Festival.

Crossing over into mainland Europe you will also be able to see the brilliant force of Sweet Empire, who are pivotal within the Dutch punk rock scene. Italy’s Edward In Venice will be bringing their modern hardcore and skate-punk to Manchester and Pizzatramp are from Wales, they will be bringing their frantic punk rock to the Manchester Punk Festival for the first time ever. Finally Yorkshire’s Larrakia have been added to the line up, they were born from now defunct The Fear and look ready to pick up where they left off.

Super Early Bird tickets sold out, before any bands were announced, but there is still an allocation of Early Bird tickets available for just £25 and I’d advise you to snap these up as quick as you can. Manchester Punk Festival is happening 20-22 April 2017 across a vast array of venues in Manchester City Centre.
