Nuremberg skate punkers Melonball have announced they are planning to release the acoustic EP, eup•nea, via Thousand Island Records and Lockjaw Records, with the lead single, Sinking, preceding it on the 4th March. The EP offers an intimate take on their speedy punk rock sound, featuring insightful acoustic versions of five tracks from their debut album, Breathe, they bring a fresh perspective without sacrificing the energy of their political message and social criticism. Sinking calls out people who talk big about themselves but don’t really achieve much. It’s all about how these folks often use and take advantage of others to boost their own success. Teaming up with their friend and producer of the record Vik (Deadends), the acoustic version of this track really hones in on this criticism and presents itself as an energetically charged acoustic track.

Melonball presents a fresh perspective that navigates the delicate balance between mellowness and the spirited energy inherent in their punk roots. What sets this EP apart is its ability to deliver a more nuanced and introspective view without diluting the potency of the band’s poignant political messages and social criticism. This EP shows Melonball‘s artistic skill and proves that even in the unplugged realm, the passion of their rebellious spirit remains undiminished.
