Germany’s Melonball have returned with their second full-length, Take Care, that is now available via Thousand Islands Records in North America and in Europe through Rookie Records. With Take Care, Melonball deliver their most expansive and emotionally direct work to date, a record that connects urgent political themes with deeply personal moments while pushing the band’s fast, technical punk sound into new territory. The album moves confidently between confrontation and introspection, capturing both the external pressures of the current social climate and the internal struggles of identity, doubt, and connection. Serious in tone but never defeatist, Take Care channels energy, clarity, and the joy of resistance. Its message is simple and direct: take care of yourselves, take care of each other, and above all, take care of those who can’t do it on their own.
Musically, Melonball remain rooted in their signature blend of speed, precision, and melody, but Take Care finds them opening up their arrangements and allowing atmosphere and feeling to carry as much weight as sheer momentum. Multifaceted guitar work and intricate rhythms collide with sharp hooks and memorable choruses, while the deliberately raw production keeps everything immediate and tangible. The vocals are presented with minimal post-production, emphasizing urgency, honesty, and presence.
