Germany’s Melonball are back with a vengeance on their new single, 129, that is now available via Thousand Islands Records and Rookie Records. 129 offers a second taste of their highly anticipated sophomore album that is due out in early 2026, the track directly confronts Section 129 of the German Criminal Code, a law ostensibly designed to protect against organized crime but one long criticized for being weaponized against antifascist structures and grassroots resistance. With driving riffs, rapid-fire rhythms, and layered vocal urgency, Melonball deliver a blistering reminder that laws and police power often serve to preserve existing hierarchies rather than protect the people.
