Millie Manders & The Shutup have today released their sophomore full length, Wake Up, Shut Up, Work, that is now available through streaming platforms here and on CD & vinyl here. The album follows up on their acclaimed debut Telling Truths, Breaking Ties and includes the recent singles Angry Side and Can I Get Off? The band will also be appearing Rebellion Festival and will be playing an album release show at the festival on the 3rd August.

Our sophomore album has been so much more collaborative as a band, and it’s been a really wonderful process in terms of expansion and evolution of our sound while maintaining a lot of what we have already put out on Telling Truths, Breaking Ties. It’s also been a great opportunity to bond as musicians, writing in rooms together in blocks over the last year or so. We are all so proud of what we have achieved, and we all hope that Wake Up, Shut Up, Work has a similarly warm reception when it’s released into the world.” (Millie Manders)

Wake Up, Shut Up, Work is exactly the kind of tonic we need right now. It’s chock-full of ideas, opinions and huge hooks, marinated in teeth-rattling riffs and ska-tinged punk, led by Millie’s huge, emotive, clarion vocal. Outspoken, potty-mouthed, funny and refreshingly frank, it’s an album that tackles mental health and women’s rights, and nails how hard it is just to exist as a citizen of planet earth in 2024.
