Modern Shakes Drop Debut Album “A Bolt From The Blue”

London, UK’s Modern Shakes formed in late 2017 and released their debut EP, Murmur, in 2019, the EP evoked the catchy melodies and thoughtful songwriting of bands like Banner Pilot and Leatherface, the release was backed up with shows with the likes of Billy Liar, The Dopamines, Raging Nathans and Clowns which helped to put Modern Shakes firmly on the map. 2020 saw the follow-up release, Someday, One Day, via Cats Claw Records, with singles Fair Do’s and Cruising getting fists pumping and choruses yelled at shows up and down the country, the band started to gather a following in scenes outside of their home town. The grind continues as Modern Shakes have now released their debut full-length, A Bolt From The Blue, that was recorded by Daly George at The Ranch Production House.

Previewing the latest incarnation of their signature heartfelt, catchy melodic sound, singles Ask The Dust, Icing On The Horizon, Canadasolite and Watch It Flicker tempted audiences with teasers of what was to come. Modern Shakes recognise the importance of living in the moment and finding the best way to breathe hope into your existence, whilst overcoming the daily struggles of life that family, friends and your number one enemy, yourself, can throw in your direction. A Bolt From The Blue is now available via Disconnect Disconnect Records (UK), Cat’s Claw Records (UK), Fond of Life Records (DE), Keep It A Secret Records (DE), Double Helix Records (US) and Punk Rock Radar (US).
