Monkeys Blood Release Debut Album “Anthropoid”

Monkeys Blood are a genuine North Of England super group, a trio that have been in the scene even longer than I can remember, you have Peesh Guitar/Vocal (LoGOz / Junkster / Cherry & Peesh), Ian Murray Drums (Slalom D) and Denni Bass (All Out Attack / Underclass), all varying in style, but all routed in Punk Rock, so this debut is a striking out into something of that vain but much much darker. Anthropoid is a savage and unrelenting rock inspired punk album, it bites even harder than it sounds, it has every inch of all three members previous lives etched into its heart, music that’s Killing Joke, its 70’s classic rock, its 1000 miles an hour at times, and slow when it needs to be.

Song writer Peesh has always had a dark side to his songs, but this has normally been hidden behind catchy pop inspired punk, now its front and centre of the sound too. If you’re looking for something that’s easy to get lost in, but also hits all the right notes when it comes top social commentary, this album is a blinder of an opener. Anthropoid is self released and is now available on CD or Download here.
