Mr. Dinkles have officially released their new five-song EP, R.I.P.T., that is now available via digital platforms. Comprised of vocalist and guitarist Mac Rettig and drummer Rocco Ramos, Mr. Dinkles have quickly emerged as one of the more distinctive voices in today’s DIY punk landscape. Blending elements of garage rock, post-grunge, power-pop, and lo-fi punk, the duo create songs that feel chaotic yet deeply relatable, songs that are equal parts sarcastic, vulnerable, and fiercely self-aware. What makes R.I.P.T. especially compelling is its refusal to separate the personal from the political. The songs often feel like journal entries written in real time, capturing the experience of being young, online, overwhelmed, and still trying to find meaning in the chaos.
Across R.I.P.T., Mr. Dinkles confront the realities of modern adulthood through a lens of dark humor and emotional honesty. From economic uncertainty and social media fatigue to political frustration and personal burnout, the EP documents life in a constant state of overstimulation. Rather than offering easy answers, the band embraces the contradictions, finding moments of humor amid anxiety and resilience amid exhaustion. With R.I.P.T., Mr. Dinkles continue to carve out a space entirely their own: loud, unfiltered, emotionally messy, and impossible to ignore.
