Northvale have today released their debut full length, Where We Go When There’s Nothing Left, that was five years in the making. The album is a product of the band’s growth, failures and gritty ambition, Where We Go When There’s Nothing Left is a thought-provoking and colourful collection that lies somewhere between the sweet spot where alt rock, pop-punk and emo collide. Although Northvale hone influence from the Drive Thru Records era of the years past, the New Jersey outfit are as fresh and contemporary a breathe of fresh for the scene’s present.
From heart-rendering mental health anthem, Hang In There, Kid, to the soaring emo heights of Already Dead, the album is laced with compelling and intense tracks that showcase the New Jersey outfit’s resonating hooks and soaring injections of melody. From mental health to toxic celebrity worship to addiction, Northvale tackle the cutting issues of our time, but pursue their causes in a way that is both unerringly pertinent and perennially engaging. Amidst its poignant subject matter, Where We Go When There’s Nothing Left is, at its core, a hopeful and positive look to the future.
Northvale will also be celebrating the release of their new album at NJ’s Debonair Music Hall on February 8th 2025 with tickets available here.
