Play Dead Head To The “Offy” & Announce “Mug Cake” EP & UK Tour
Play Dead’s tales of wit and teenage woe take a new chapter with the raucous retail rocker Offy. Alongside the single comes the announcement of a new EP, Mug Cake, that will be released via Blitzcat Records on October 14th.
The boys warm up for November’s Mug Cake Tour, their first full UK outing, with a triple header of September supports – joining L’objectif for the Southampton leg of their UK tour and gracing the notorious Blondies in Clapton supporting Aerial Salad. They then travel to Manchester for the first time for the no holds barred Garlic Bread Club all-dayer, sharing the bill with fellow underground punkists Piss Kitti, Nosebleed and Comeback Clit.
“it’s ‘probably what you’d call the most ‘quintessential’ Play Dead tune we wrote – typical hapless 2020 teenagers going out and getting as pissed as possible with mates; just really trying to work out if you’re having the time of your life or actually concluding that this is tragic, and I better bounce.” (singer Joe Blair)
