Ahead of this year’s Rebellion Festival we’ll be asking a selection of the band’s who are appearing about what we can expect, and for their advice on surviving the four day festival. In the 13th of The Punk Site‘s Rebellion Festival previews we ask The Eddies to provide their insights into the festival. The Eddies formed in 1994, since then they have toured their native Scotland and the North of England with pretty much everyone currently on the UK punk scene and to date they have released two albums, 1999’s Panic and 2001’s Who Are You?, and they are now set to release their new EP, Still Takin’ The Mick, when they play the 2018 Rebellion FestivalThe Rebellion Festival will be taking place at Blackpool Winter Gardens between the 2nd and 5th August 2018, you can purchase tickets and view the full line up for this years festival here

You can read about what to expect from The Eddies at the 2018 Rebellion Festival below

Is this your first experience of the Rebellion Festival or have you played before?

We played the introducing stage last year. Packed room and a good response and in return we’ve been asked back.

What can we look forward to from your set?

As you know we are launching our new ep so you’ll get the chance to hear all five songs from that , plus as many old ones as we can squeeze in.

What makes the Rebellion Festival special for you?

Just the whole vibe surrounding the weekend and the way the show is professionally run. Meeting loads of people from all round the world as well.

Will you have the chance to catch anyone else whilst you’re there and is there anyone else on the bill you’d recommend people go and see?

We will try to catch as many bands as possible but will always try and support the other Scottish bands playing like Delinquents and The Cundeez, Fire Exit, The Red Eyes and Tripwire DC ( sorry if I forgot anyone else).

If you could pick one band to appear at the Rebellion Festival who would it be?

As it’s me (Andy) doing this I’m gonna say one of two I’d like to see here, Either Rise Against or Strung Out .

Do you have a favourite memory from a previous Rebellion Festival?

Easily…..last year on The Introducing Stage!

Are you currently on tour if so where else are you playing this year?

No we are keeping gigs to a minimum just now due to other commitments and concentration is on writing new stuff at the moment. Hopefully an album next year!!

What can we look forward to from you in the next twelve months?

Pretty much answered above I think.

Do you have any festival survival tips?

Make sure you take time to eat and try and drink responsibly!

Is there anything else in Blackpool you’d recommend people experience whilst they’re in the town?

Go check out a few of the bars that have shows on and meet new folk. Or take in the Pleasure Beach stuff if you’re that way inclined.

Finally when and where are you appearing?

We play the Arena Stage on Thursday at 1.30. Come down …..you might just like it . We’ll be hanging at the merch afterwards if anyone wants to say hello.

Thanks for taking the time to speak to us, we’ll see you down the front

The Eddies will releasing their new EP, Still Takin’ The Mick, on the 2nd August when they appear at the Rebellion Festival
