California’s Scowl have released their highly-anticipated full length album, How Flowers Grow, via Flatspot Records. The ten songs on How Flowers Grow could be a masterclass in how to write authentic, heartfelt punk and hardcore without losing the sense of youthful enthusiasm and fun that makes the genre compelling to begin with. The lyrics are delivered with a biting sense of anger and self-reflection, dealing with everything from personal betrayals to socio-economic strife.

You’ll hear sonic inspiration from bands like Black Flag, Justice League and Negative Approach, just as much as atypical artists like Blondie and Phoebe Bridgers. From the breakneck punk sensibilities on opener Bloodhound to the lush melodies on Seeds To Sow and the raw emotion on the title track. Scowl delivers with a fury and intensity that makes them out as one to watch.

Scowl also has a run of West Coast tour dates coming up in December with Comeback Kid, No Warning and Zulu. These will be followed by a string of shows on the East Coast including the For The Children benefit in Brooklyn, NY with Xibalba and Section H8, followed by Philadelphia and Washington D.C. with Fixation and End It.

How Flowers Grow can be streamed and purchased via Bandcamp
