Slates to Release Covers EP in Support of All Hands Volunteers

Edmonton punk band Slates are due to release a covers EP later this month in support of the All Hands Volunteers group (an NGO who provide disaster relief support around the world – http://hands.org/). The EP is titled SST and features covers from bands such as fIREHOSE and Sonic Youth and will be available from January 17, 2014 via the bands’ new label, New Damage Records.

All Hands Volunteers was brought to the group’s attention through their friend Matt Leedy (City Streets) who worked with them providing support for victims of super storm Sandy in Staten Island NY.  Drummer Dallas Thompson comments:

“We wanted to find a way to support Matt and the work All Hands Volunteers is currently doing. It’s a great initiative, in which selfless volunteers have been getting their hands dirty helping to rebuild communities…”
