LA based quintet Spanish Love Songs have announced that Brave Faces Etc is due out 15th April 2022 via Pure Noise Records, the album features reimagined & alternative versions of the original 2020 release. With Brave Faces Etc, the songs are character stories set in small-town America and anxious urban jungles alike, unfurling heartbreaking tales of addiction, depression, debt and death juxtaposed alongside looming societal issues like mass shootings, the opioid epidemic and climate change. They’re all at once personal vignettes and universal truths of life in the 2010’s, the lines blurred between Slocum’s own experiences and those of his friends and acquaintances. It seeks to find balance between realism and optimism. Ahead of the release the band have now shared Losers 2, a brand new track and video taken from the album.

“This version of the song takes it back to something more in line with the original demo, which was really just a simple protest style song. This was another song that we decided worked better by simplifying — we removed the wall of guitars and synths and let a much calmer, earnest version emerge. It was interesting to us, since it shifted the mood of the song from something angry into something more resigned, despite having the exact same lyrics and structure.” (Singer Dylan Slocum)

Spanish Love Songs are currently touring with The Wonder Years on their US tour and they will also be touring the US this summer with Save Face and Camp Trash. The band will be returning to the UK and Europe for Slam Dunk Festival, Greenfield Festival and Jera Festival as well as a run of headline dates where they will be supported by Kali Masi.
