Specky Cult are a band that isn’t a band, if your as old as myself you might not but so surprised by this phenomenon.  Possibly most famous of these would be the Spinal Tap, but then who could forget Infant Sorrow, Wyld Stallyns, and then who could forget Dr Teeth And the Electric Mayhem, I’ll let you find out about all of these if you want to.  Anyway, Specky Cult are in this ilk, except this is a band that was put together to make a story of a band who head off down to London to play a big break gig, which will all be aired as a podcast show, then they thought, actually these songs might actually need a life of their own too, and Covid did what it did to most creatives, it made them think we really need an outlet, now they actually have a gig!

Hence we have this song, off what may or may not be an album, ‘Oi Oi Boy’ is now born unto the world.

If you wanted to liken the song to anything, it might be something midway between Lovely Eggs and Johnny Moped, an acoustic catchy slice of art, plenty of ear worms and strong lyrical hooks to reel you in.

Gigging will happen soon, in fact on May 21st at the Central Bar Gateshead supporting the kings of DIY Punk Wonk Unit.

Head over to the non band FACEBOOK page and see what going on.
