A one-of-a-kind, unexpected yet powerful collaboration between two Mainstays from the Montreal punk rock scene, Subb & Mudie (Hugo Mudie of The Sainte Catherines), are joining forces to pay homage to the late Kim Shattuck of The Muffs. Cat Songs showcases Subb & Mudie covering The Muffs songs Outer Space and End it All, with the second half of the EP featuring the Montreal vets spoiling us by covering each other. For their first new material in 15 years, Subb went strong with their rendition of Post-Pyong, resulting in Subb‘s first ever and only song sung in French. Closing this improbable release is Mudie knocking it out of the park with his version of Subb‘s Rodney Dangerfield.

The release will be limited to 300 one sided 12″ colored vinyl records cut at 45 rpm, including a silk-screen printed tribute to Kim Shattuck on Side B, that can be pre-ordered here. Everything is wrapped up in a boutique barn door sleeve, printed inside and out with art from Hugo Mudie. Outer Space will be released as the lead single on May 1st and Thousand Islands Records will donate a portion of proceeds raised from Cat Songs to the ALS Foundation.
