Birmingham, UK’s Suburban Studs formed in 1976 and supported the Sex Pistols and The Clash at the 100 Club in the same year. They released their only full length, Slam, in 1977 on Pogo Records and the album is now getting a welcome expanded reissue courtesy of Captain Oi / Cherry Red Records. The double CD includes the whole of the original Slam album with the addition of rare demos for a proposed second album, two of which have never previously been issued, as well as their sole John Peel Session, singles and their contribution to Hope & Anchor Front Row Festival live album.
The Slam CD also comes with a booklet containing the original album artwork along with rare and previously unpublished photos from the era alongside press clippings and detailed liner notes that catalogue the life on the sadly short-lived outfit. Slam is now available on double CD via Cherry Red Records
