The Dollyrots are set to release their new album, Night Owls, on October 13th via Wicked Cool Records. For Night Owls, the band once again enlisted longtime collaborator John Fields who is responsible for the bulk of production credit. To keep the party going the band will be releasing a lyric video for all thirteen tracks on the album and have today released the lyric video for Hey Girl.

“We love the idea of having lyric videos for all the songs on the album. I can remember getting a new cassette when I was a kid and opening up the insert so I could read and sing along. I guess it’s kinda the modern-day version of that… you don’t really know the album until you know the words. Words overlaying little snapshots of our life touring and recording.” (singer & bassist Kelly Ogden)

“You know how they say a band’s first album is usually their best? Well, I think because we had time for this one, you know, since the world stopped due to Covid, it’s a lot like a first album. We had so many bits and pieces and once we could finally get into the studio it all just flew out of us, like we had been holding something vital & urgent in for years. Because we had.” (Kelly Ogden)
