Today sees the release of The Krown Jewelz (the artists formerly known as The Kunts) Coronation protest song Scrap The Monarchy on their own boutique record label, Pegging Prince Records. Scrap The Monarchy is set to be the Essex punk band’s fifth consecutive top 40 single in various guises, each time without any big record, management or PR company pulling the strings. On Saturday 6th May The Krown Jewelz will join the anti-monarchy protests in London’s Trafalgar Square accompanied by a 9-foot Jimmy Savile mascot, according to the band, “just in case anyone has forgotten the King’s links to the UK’s most notorious paedophile, and by that we don’t mean his brother”.

Krown Jewelz singer K-Royale has also revealed his latest artwork, A Waste of Money, which consists of 100 specimen £10 banknotes featuring King Charles’s image that he has used to wipe his bottom. K-Royale says of the piece, “A Waste of Money draws attention to the amount of public money being wasted on the ceremony and security to inaugurate the unelected head of state, undemocratically picked from the pockets of UK citizens who are already suffering with of a cost of living crisis.” On Thursday 11th May, the final day of the band’s chart campaign. A Waste Of Money will be exhibited in its complete form for one evening only, at the New Cross Inn in London on the same day The Krown Jewelz play the venue with support from Pizza Tramp and Second In Line. At the end of the evening, A Waste of Money will be broken up and distributed amongst the crowd to do whatever they wish with it.

“This time around we’ve left out the swearwords so the song can be covered by the media and played on the radio, but predictably they are still ghosting it! So it’s down to you! Please join us in sticking a sausage finger up at the king no one wants by downloading, streaming and sharing Scrap The Monarchy all the way to the top of the charts between 05/05/23 and 11/05/23.”
