UK South Coast indie punks The Lonely Surf have released their new single, 12 Months Out, via Disconnect Disconnect Records. Their brand of indie punk has certainly evolved over the years, with 12 Months Out providing another great example of their ability to deliver instantly memorable lyricism that combines with soaring guitar melodies. Strong influences of The Menzingers, The Wombats and Bruce Springsteen are evident in a record which boasts an infectious chorus, playful indie beats and stadium-sized chords.

“12 Months Out is about taking time out to reflect on tough situations and realising that you’re stuck in a cycle, doing things that aren’t helping you and not looking after yourself. It’s about ultimately letting go of things that you hold close and coming out the other side with a fresh perspective.” (frontman Dom Wright)
