The Narcissists have cast their sights on a new path with the release of their sophomore EP, Another Day Of Poison. Evolving from their original psychedelic-surf sound, the Canberra trio have embraced a stripped-back dynamic characterised by motorik rhythms and noisy textures. The band recorded the EP over three-days at Infidel Studios in Queanbeyan NSW, having written the tracks over the preceding few months. The final product is six tracks filled with snarled lyrics and fuzzed out rhythms. While significantly shorter than their older compositions, The Narcissists’ new songs waste no time in establishing their powerful presence, enhancing dynamics with incisive song-structuring.

“While our first EP [Conflict] was made up of songs we’d developed over a number of years, we wanted to be more spontaneous with these tracks. We intentionally recorded ANOTHER DAY OF POISON shortly after writing so as to preserve the initial inspiration and emotion of each track. As a result, I think we’ve created a more interesting and cohesive piece of work.” (vocalist & guitarist Tom Spillane)
