At number 17 in our countdown of The Punk Site contributors top 20 of 2021 is Incisions sophomore album, Bliss, that arrived in April with a sound as furious and unrelenting as the times we live in. Bliss saw the band delve into new territory, mixing levels of metallic crust and noise rock guitar tones amidst the usual 80’s hardcore influence of their acclaimed self titled debut album. Bliss is an album that saw Incisions turning the rifle sights towards themselves whilst holding the ruling classes to account and denouncing the instability of the country they call home.

“Incisions 2018 self titled debut seems a lifetime ago, and the band here is a more evolved beast, thanks to a classic settled line up that has created room for flair and refinement to pierce the brash, caustic hardcore that sits at their centre … Zero to devastation in 19 minutes means putting an hour aside for repeated necessary listens” (Adam Pytro, April 2021)
