Originally released in 2001 and being pressed on vinyl for the first time, DCxPC presents The Ratchet Boys Live From 1997 – 2001“. The Ratchet Boys were integral to the DMV ska and punk all-ages scene. Combining a working class aesthetic and DIY punk attitude with a live show and showmanship with no others. The band was notorious for throwing out donuts during the set. The Ratchet Boys were important for uniting the DC ska scene by booking a number of key shows at an indoor soccer arena named the Corner Kick in the suburbs of DC.

This record is a collection of live tracks from 2000. The Ratchet Boys worked harder than anyone to ensure that local talent was showcased as often as possible. They were heroes of the scene. The scene lost Dan Hess, the singer for the Ratchet Boys, in 2007 from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. All proceeds for this album, to be released on September 23rd, will be going to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to honor Dan’s memory. Ahead of the album’s release DCxPC are streaming the track Montoya.
