Ohio pop punk band Hit The Lights has premiered a new track. The song is titled “Life On The Bottom” and comes from their upcoming full length, Summer Bones, which is set to be released on March 24th via Pure Noise Records. The video, directed by Kyle Thrash (Modern Baseball, RJD2) and focuses onm boxing newcomer Ismael Villarreal. The band comments on the direction:
“We’ve worked with Kyle Thrash so many times that we have complete trust in his ideas and abilities,” says vocalist Nick Thompson. “When he approached us about the idea for a video centered around Ismael, we were totally on board. The song made sense with Ismael’s struggles and it’s great to be able to give him some limelight while we take the back seat!”
“Every time I listened to the song I would always imagine this person training… To me Ismael was a no brainer when it came to casting the video. He embodies everything the song is about. When I met him for the the first time and saw his drive and determination I knew he was the perfect fit. The kid trains six days a week with his father in the South Bronx at John’s Gym and lives and breathes boxing. He uses his god given talent to better himself and go after his dream with such a passion at such a young age, I couldn’t help but be inspired.”
