Walter Lure: The Last Heartbreaker RIP

The Punk Site has learned of the sad news that Walter Lure, the last surviving member of NYC punk legends The Heartbreakers, has passed away after a short battle with cancer. Walter Lure was the only surviving member of The Heartbreakers who played on their classic 1977 debut album “L.A.M.F“, he continued to play and be involved with music over the years, including fronting his own band The Waldos. The New York Dolls, whose dissolution led to the formation of The Heartbreakers, posted this message on Facebook “R.I.P. Walter Lure, we are all going to miss you so fucking much…. thank you so much “you make me dizzy Miss Lizzie” you beautiful rocking ‘n’ roller you, Sylvain Sylvain”. The Punk Site sends it’s condolences to his friends, family and bandmates.
